The Story of Ed
Despite his remarkably British name, Edward Winston Whetstone was born and mostly raised in Texas, with occasional breaks in Denver, London, and Jakarta. Ed mainly spent his youth telling strangers that he knew everything -- he has since dropped this habit, but his friends suspect that the sentiment remains.
After escaping high school, Ed sought out the exotic locale of Dallas, the city of big-haired women, George H. W. Bush, and a skyline with a giant dum-dum. There he found his new home, the University of Texas at Dallas, where he discovered the endless joys of week-long rendering sessions, hard-drive-devouring anti-virus software, and the hundred thousand ways to crash Maya.
Ed has recently been picked up by Reel FX Entertainment as a Lighting Apprentice by the Lighting Sorcerers there. He hopes to avoid a magical mopping incident. Ed’s goal in life is to be a storyteller, and there’s no better way to tell a story than through movies.
He’s known this ever since he saw Toy Story at the age of eight – and yes, he cried at the end of Toy Story 3. If you didn’t, you have no soul. You uncultured swine.
